New shitkickers by Elisanero. To aid my surviving any impending apocalypse. Awesome.

Unrelated: a small child I know recently asked, “Are you a witch? You only wear scary black clothing.”

Love these shoes. I can’t find them online, but you can find other (equally badass) shoes by the brand at Oak, LuisaViaRoma and Saks.

Killer Queen

So, Omahyra Mota is pretty much in first place on my list of Girls I Would Go Gay For Without An Instant of Hesitation, and I think this editorial shows why. I love the androgynous toughness of her features, and the elegance of her limbs. She’s perfect for giving these looks the rough edge they need.

Jean Paul Gaultier has always had fun playing with gender. For his Autumn/Winter 2009-10 ad campaign, he continues with this trend, taking advantage of the androgyny of Raquel Zimmermann’s features to showcase her in both masculine and feminine roles. I’ve always been slightly thrown by the strength of her jawline, and so now in this campaign, I absolutely love the way she looks in drag. I actually find myself preferring the way she looks in that guise to her femme look.

Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

(semi-tangentally: how dystopian-hot are these boots in the picture above? Love them!)

Shoes

Nicholas Kirkwood’s shoes for Rodarte require someone possessing stratospheric levels of cool to pull them off with suitable aplomb, but there’s no harm in looking, and coveting. With the steel heel and the intense lacing, they push the line far towards the fetishy side of fashion footwear, but the white leather keeps itout of the dungeon.

Seen below are another pair, worn in the Rodarte AW09 show. So insanely sexy. Once again, beautiful but unwearable for all but the select. Ah well, a girl can still dream… Just replacing sugarplums with shoes.

(I would also just kill to see these as a pair of pants.)
